Requisition Summary

This position will work directly with the Kenworth Field Service team and be responsible for technical support for troubleshooting vehicle issues; primarily electrical, engine and aftertreatment issues. 


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • The main point of contact for the Kenworth Field Service District Service, Engine Support, and National Fleet Service Managers for working through challenging electrical issues on both the MX engine, aftertreatment and chassis electrical systems
  • Research product information based on input from subject matter experts, product teardowns, and engineering specifications and schematics 
  • Serve as liaison between the Field Service Managers and Chassis Engineering, Engine Engineering, Kenworth & Peterbilt Customer Service Publications Groups, PACCAR Parts, PACCAR Engine Plant, Safety and Compliance, and Corporate Legal 
  • Work directly with Kenworth and Peterbilt design engineering to assist in the completion of design projects to resolve field issues, including design work
  • Assist in the development of technical informational bulletins for issues seen in the field
  • Manage programs within established budget and timing guidelines 
  • Campaign Support:  Provide technical and administrative support for dealers, customers, suppliers and internal staff 



Qualifications & Skills

  • BA/BS or equivalent preferred
  • Plant experience or design experience in Engineering preferred
  • Dealer service technician experience preferred 
  • Strong understanding of Kenworth vehicle electrical systems preferred
  • Strong automotive electrical and electronics experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of MX engine and aftertreatment troubleshooting and guided diagnostics 
  • General knowledge of truck systems/components and how they function/interact 
  • Pro-E experience preferred
  • Process improvement knowledge preferred 
  • MS Office tools experience; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and OneNote preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player 
  • Good organizational, time management and reporting skills 
  • Ability to work on diverse tasks and projects with minimal guidance   
  • Occasional travel may be required depending upon the project (up to 15%).
