Job Summary

The Product Safety & Compliance team has an opening for a Product Safety & Compliance Engineer.  The primary responsibilities of this role include participating in potential product safety defect investigations, supporting the engineering organization and supporting the Paccar Law Department to maintain the safety of Kenworth trucks.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in cross functional teams, including design engineering, supplier quality, product test and production to evaluate potential product safety concerns.
  • Support engineering on product development programs, such as alternative powertrain vehicles, and autonomous vehicles.
  • Support the Paccar Law Department with product liability litigation.
  • Stay aware of new and proposed safety regulations.
  • Apply continuous improvement related to product safety and compliance.
  • Maintain positive working relationships within Kenworth and with other Paccar divisions.
  • May travel, up to 10%.

 

Qualifications & Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field.
  • Two or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to learn and implement new processes and techniques to facilitate problem solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage personal workload and respond to shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Preferred

  • Experience with heavy truck or passenger car design, manufacturing, and/or testing.
  • Familiar with automotive safety regulations.
  • Exposure to ISO26262.
  • Knowledge of DFSS tools including FMEA.
  • Experience with data analysis, including visualization tools.

The salary range for the Product Safety & Compliance Engineer is $84,00 - $131,700 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
