Kenworth Summer Internship Program
The Kenworth Summer Internship Program targets graduate and undergraduate students interested in gaining real-world work experience in a Fortune 500 Company. As a Kenworth Intern, you will have a chance to apply your education, and build upon your established skills and knowledge to perform meaningful work. Your manager and team will focus on the development of your professional and technical competencies as well as provide on-the-job training. You will have a chance to make an impact, and be challenged with tasks, projects, and a presentation at the end of your internship. Our intern program will provide the opportunity to gain knowledge of the company, our products, and our respective departments through intern events such as Lunch and Learns with senior managers.
Position Summary
The Kenworth HR team is seeking a motivated Human Resources Intern to join the local HR department at our division offices in Kirkland, WA. As an ideal candidate you will be a self-starter, a strong team player, and organized. In our HR team, you must be an ambitious learner with the ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities and handle confidential time-sensitive tasks and information.
Job Responsibilities / Functions
- Support the HR team in new and ongoing projects
- Provide HRIS data entry support
- Assist in administrating HR related communications including announcements and maintaining employee intranet page
- Respond to routine employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, leave, and other general employment questions
- Lead and/or assist in coordinating division employee engagement activities such as annual Health & Wellness Fair, Summer Family Day and Intern Events
- Assist with candidate onboarding and new hire orientation
- Occasionally File and perform annual HR file audit
- Provide breaks and coverage to the front desk when others aren’t available on a non-consistent basis
Qualifications & Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or equivalent field required. Senior class standing or upcoming spring graduates preferred
- Experience preferred in a people facing role (i.e. customer service, hospitality, retail, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills, sense of urgency, and a high level of attention to detail required
- Ability to effectively accomplish multiple priorities in established time periods
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
- MS Office experience required
- Internship experience within a corporate environment preferred
- SAP SuccessFactors or relevant system experience preferred
- Familiarity with Federal and State employment laws preferred
- Ability to work with confidential information and adapt to continually changing priorities

Additional Job Board Information
