Requisition Summary

We are looking for an Export Sales Manager to help us grow our export truck business through existing and new PACCAR Global Sales dealers and expand export sales opportunities for all US and Canadian Kenworth dealers.  At PACCAR Global Sales our goal is to provide premium and robust products that exceed the expectations of our customers.

 

Export truck sales provide an opportunity for US and Canadian dealers to supply a global truck solution for their customers. The PACCAR Global Sales team targets niche markets for heavy-duty and off-highway truck sales through its overseas dealer network and/or direct sales activities.

 

The ideal candidate has a 4-Year Degree in Marketing, Engineering or Business Administration, has 5 to 10 years previous heavy-duty truck sales or related truck industry experience, is detailed oriented, and has exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, and has previous foreign travel experience.

 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing export truck sales via overseas and domestic dealers, conducting customer-direct truck sales when necessary, and implementing marketing plans to meet annual export sales goals.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key dealers and bodybuilders to build customer or market segment conquest strategies.
  • Organize Engineering Product Committee meetings to review high-content, off-highway chassis specifications, for export customers which might also include high-value Allied Equipment as a condition of sale.
  • Oversee export truck bid projects, including contract reviews, customer financial requirements, specification development, price quotations, production schedule estimates, and senior management approvals.
  • Follow export truck orders through their manufacturing process to ensure long lead-time components are ordered in time for production.
  • Maintain regular and effective contact with key customers to understand current and future transportation requirements or product issues. .
  • Remain current on major changes to emissions or other heavy-duty transport regulations, industry trends, and local economies, in key export countries..
  • Perform other typical management duties and responsibilities as needed.
  • Estimated overseas travel up to 15%, estimated domestic travel up to 25%.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills required with the ability to influence people to take effective actions to secure favorable results.
  • Minimum of 5 years truck industry experience required, preferably in sales, design, or service of vocational or off-highway trucks.
  • Project Management skills required with the ability to handle complex bid tenders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Previous people management experience preferred, with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and work effectively/build relationships with a wide variety of people and functions.
  • PACCAR business system knowledge preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather facts and resolve problems in a positive and efficient manner.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and willingness to perform routine tasks associated with truck sales processes.
  • Cultural awareness required with the ability and willingness to travel overseas when necessary.
  • Foreign language experience desired.

 

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Required, MBA preferred.

Additional Job Board Information

At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for the Export Sales Manager is $110,600 - $173,000 annually. This position is also eligible for annual incentive bonus compensation with a target of 15% of base pay. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
