Position Summary 

The Engine Integration Department is looking for a collaborative and driven engineer to support our team focused on supporting advanced emissions programs in response to EPA & CARB emissions vehicle requirement updates. Our goal is to integrate PACCAR’s advanced engine portfolio into our various vehicles through systems engineering thinking & ownership of engines by bringing together a single powertrain system that functions as one.  

You will have the opportunity to make a great contribution to the direction and completion of our engine and emissions programs. Job Functions / Responsibilities 

  • Assist in the direction, analysis, and detailed design of components as a part of an advanced emissions program 
  • Support translating customer requirements into powertrain and engine technical requirements 
  • Support packaging studies between our engines and vehicle platforms 
  • Assist in developing vehicle impact analysis reports & open issues to resolution 
  • Support engine supplier & internal engineering meetings for key engine programs 
  • Support direction and consultation to our engine suppliers on engine revisions required to integrate engines into our vehicle models 
  • Utilize Creo/ProE to create optimized assemblies  
  • Complete work related to engineering goals, regulation changes, plant liaison requests (PLRs), field service, and option approval request (OAR) support 
  • Learn and utilize Paccar and industry systems to manage a product implementation 
  • Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma techniques
  • Travel up to 15% may be possible

 

Qualifications & Skills 

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related degree required; EIT license preferred
  • 1-2 years of relevant working experience 
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and related software 
  • Familiarity in the use of Creo Parametric or other similar solid modeling software managing large complex assemblies 
  • Familiarity with project management methods & tools  
  • Knowledge of engineering processes & techniques & being resourceful in solving complex, sometimes ambiguous technical problems 
  • Demonstrated team player with the ability to work with or support a diverse set of stakeholders & manage multiple tasks concurrently 
  • Willingness to grow personally and professionally, ready to learn and make use of new engineering processes and techniques 
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Six Sigma techniques is desired
  • Interest in the design specification of heavy-duty trucks or engine development

The salary range for Engine Integration Design Engineer is $72,200-$108,000 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
