Design Intern

Job Description

The Design Intern will contribute their creativity and ideas to support the Kenworth Design and Styling team on a combination of advanced and current projects. They will collaborate with digital and physical modelers and take part in design reviews with the rest of the design team.


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Sketch and develop innovative design solutions for future and current truck interiors and exteriors, and their components, through to prototype digital and/or physical models, taking direction from senior design staff

  • Make high quality visual presentations to design staff and management

  • Demonstrate ability to develop a “core” personal project in addition to multiple smaller tasks

  • Give constructive feedback and play an active role in design reviews

  • Respond to feedback from members of the design team


Essential Skills

  • Must be able to sketch manually and fluently

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and digital modeling software

  • Understanding of product specifications and ability to prioritize design objectives

  • Enthusiasm for both interior and exterior design

  • Strong sense of customer empathy, especially ergonomic and usability demands

  • Ability to self-manage within a team-oriented environment

Additional Job Board Information

At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. The hourly rates for Interns are $25 per hour for undergraduates and $30 per hour for graduates. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
