Requisition Summary

We are looking for a passionate data analyst intern to turn data into information, information into insight, and insight into business decisions. The position requires analyst to conduct full project activity lifecycle of gathering information and requirements, develop analysis and design architecture, and continuously monitor performance to identify improvement opportunities.

The Data Analyst Summer Intern role will work well within a fast-paced, deadline driven, team environment. The team is responsible for providing analytical support related to identifying trends and telling stories with data.

 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Work with team to define key source data, required reporting metrics, assess status of existing reports and recommend solutions
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategy that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
  • Filter and cleanse data to locate and correct code problems
  • Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Identify new business improvement opportunities
  • Interface with business customers to gather information and requirements
  • Own the design, development and maintenance of on-going metrics, reports and analyses
  • Applying knowledge in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation to see beyond numbers
  • Keen attention to detail, with excellent time management skills
  • Perform statistical analyses on large data sets to provide actionable insights
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for carious initiative for the company
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team to execute on shared deadlines and goals

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a BS/BA or MS program
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attend to detail and accuracy
  • Strong working knowledge with databases (SQL, AWS, etc…) and programming (XML, JavaScript, etc…)
  • Knowledge of query building, report writing and presenting findings
  • Familiar with basic statistical methods
  • Ability to manipulate data programmatically
  • Demonstrated interest in data and technology, is a quick study and highly analytical
  • Ability to perform ETL desired
