Job Summary

Support our District Service Managers and dealers to resolve product issues and reduce repair dwell time. In this role you will assist technicians within the Kenworth dealership network to diagnose chassis related issues and provide technical assistance to our District Service Managers. A high level of experience with medium & heavy duty truck cab, chassis, and electrical systems is required. The successful candidate will be able to clearly explain the interworking and diagnosis of these systems. You will work with multiple vendors and suppliers as well as multiple areas within PACCAR including Kenworth engineering, production, sales, PACCAR Parts, accounting, applications, and PACCAR Technical Center. Get first-hand experience to what makes our company “The World’s Best”. 

 

 This position is required to be based in the Central Region of the U.S. from a home office. 

 

Job Functions / Responsibilities 

  • Accepts ownership and manages all chassis technical issues within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Track all open TCS365 chassis support cases in AOR to ensure timely communication and action plan exists to get truck back in service.
  • Work as a team with all TM’s to ensure timely communication on TCS365 chassis cases in all regions.
  • On-site diagnostic assistance with advanced tools such as Picoscope, CANalyzer, etc.
  • Assists in the reduction of Kenworth warranty costs.
  • Maintain a technical working knowledge of all engine and chassis systems including their features, advantages, and benefits over competitive engines.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Service and major suppliers to identify and prioritize chassis system reliability.
  • This position will require approximately 60% travel.


 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Automotive Technology preferred.
  • 5+ years of directly related experience is required.
  • Training or experience with BEV, ADAS, and alternative fuel systems.
  • Personal computer skills include working knowledge of Excel, Word Processing and database management software. 
  • Ability to work independently; demonstrated experience in diesel engine/chassis systems.
  • Demonstrated Experience with automotive electrical & on-board electronic systems including CAN bus and multiplexed wiring systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including formal presentations in a classroom environment.
  • Solid interpersonal and relationship-building skills. 
  • Experience in dealer service/service management, preferably in heavy truck or automotive field, or related experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Kenworth truck manufacturing processes and products.

The salary range for Technical Service Manager is $93,000 - $145,500 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
