Requisition Summary
Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR Company, currently has an opportunity for an entry level District Sales Manager in our Northeast Region. This position can be based in either Pittsburgh or Philadelphia, PA. Pittsburgh PA is the preferred location, as it is considered local travel for the position's 80% travel requirement. If position is based in Philadelphia PA, with the 80% travel requirement, employee can anticipate approximately 12 nights per month in hotel accommodations. This entry level District Sales Manager position is a great introduction to a District Sales Manager career at PACCAR/Peterbilt.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to:
- Design and execute customer acquisition strategy.
- Develop a target customer list and a sales plan to generate new class 8 business.
- Interact with End Users/Customers, Sales Regions, Other PACCAR Departments, Dealer Sales Managers and Sales Teams to promote and sell the Peterbilt class 8 products.
- Accumulate market information to recommend and execute strategic direction for pricing, cost, orders and option availability.
- Sell products in cooperation with our dealer distributor channels.
- Assist in the development of marketing programs that are creative to help sell Peterbilt class 8 products.
- Work with our major suppliers, PacLease and PACCAR Financial, to develop programs together that will help sell the class 8 product line.
- Assist with the development and execution of strategic direction for pricing, cost, orders and option availability.
Skills / Competencies
This position may be a fit for you if you have strong sales experience and abilities; an understanding of business-to-business sales; ability to meet and exceed challenging business goals through planning and execution; build relationships from initiation to close and maintain throughout the next sales cycles; and can successfully use a presentation format in selling and communicating with major customers.
Candidates must possess a positive attitude, strong initiative, enthusiasm, an interest in our customer’s and high level of energy. Local travel is required.
