Requisition Summary

This position coordinates all phases of expedited freight shipments from pickup to delivery including routing, scheduling and moitoring;works closely with carriers, suppliers and internal customers to provide optimal logistics performance for manufacturing environment.  Position requires ability to flourish in a ddetail-oriented, solution-focused environment.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Expedited freight shipment routing, scheduling, and monitoring for inbound and outbound materials to mitigate plant production shortages.
  • Freight/cargo claims coordinator, responsible for overall process from initiation to settlement, tracking and reporting.
  • TruckLoad, LTL freight and Parcel freight routing, scheduling, tracking, reporting.
  • Coordinates the release and movement of production units to third-party transporter and other entities.
  • Communicate effectively with carriers, suppliers, internal customers, peers and multiple levels of management.
  • Freight bill auditing, invoice reconciliation, premium freight tracking and reporting.
  • Maintain records, reporting, and administrative files with high level of accuracy.
  • Support departmental freight cost reduction goals through analysis of delivery costs and identification of more cost effective options.
  • Preparation and submission of Customs Export Documents,
  • Other duties as assigned, including cross-training within transportation group.

Skills / Competencies

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Transportation Management or related field
  • 3-5 years' experience in domestic transportation including motor carriers, air freight and intermodal
  • Ability to function at a consistent, high level of detailed accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive results-focused attitude in the face of adversity.
  • Able to multi-task and reassess priorities in changing environment.
  • Must be a self-starter who has the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to work extended hours when required to support position tasks and functions.

This position will be 4 -10 hour shifts.  Thursday - Sunday.
