Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR Company, has an opening for an Industrial Design Intern (Styling) in Denton, Texas. This position will work in our Industrial Design Department and assist the Industrial Design team with the design of small parts and components to support current and near term projects. Responsibilities will also include creating graphics, presentation support, and research.

 

Local campus housing may be available at the University of North Texas at a nominal rate.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Transportation and Product Design: Styling a range of current and future Peterbilt exteriors and interiors ranging from theme development using design phases from concept to scale models, and to support other projects as requested. This may include concept and production-based programs and projects
  • Research: Conduct research of current and future competitive and analogous product, and other research to support both Industrial Design and Product Planning Groups as required
  • Rendering & Graphics Support: Create High Quality Renderings, Support Presentations, Layouts, and graphics as required
  • Modeling Studio Support: Able to execute your design or concept using traditional or modern modeling or fabrication techniques to demonstrate a design concept

 

Ability to work collaboratively with Designers, Digital Modelers, Studio Modelers, Product Planning and Program Management team members

Skills / Competencies

Basic traditional and digital sketching and rendering skills are required. Must have design acumen and good writing and verbal communication skills.

Education

Must be a recent graduate or in pursuit of a degree in Industrial or Product Design or Graphics Design, Bachelor of Arts candidates will be considered.
