Requisition Summary

Seeking energetic, independent engineer with interest in creating, defining, and launching the next generation of industry-leading trucks.  Primary responsibility will be providing subject matter expert guidance to the PACCAR organization through the position of a Vehicle Performance Engineer with focus on Fuel Economy.

Job Description

The Fuel Economy Engineer will be responsible for activities related to Fuel Economy, Energy Efficiency, and Drivability Property Ownership at Peterbilt Motors in Denton, Texas. Duties include baselining current products, benchmarking competitive products, conducting research and development for product improvements, providing engineering assistance and program support, and other duties supporting various aspects of Vehicle Properties and Performance.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and report on product performance
  • Direct and/or conduct research, concept development, and evaluations
  • Support definition of new products and support throughout the development process
  • Develop and follow through on product validation plans and reports
  • Track and report on status of achieving program targets
  • Advocate for product improvements utilizing various methods
  • Develop, utilize, and maintain test methods, procedures, and equipment as necessary

Qualifications & Skills

  • BS in Engineering or related field required
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using Excel, MiniTab, or Tableau required
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) or strong desire to obtain required
  • Strength in handling multiple tasks and projects required
  • Test and data analysis background or strong desire preferred
  • MatLab and/or LabView programming experience preferred
  • Excel VBA and pivot table experience preferred
  • Six Sigma experience preferred
  • PTC Creo design experience preferred
