Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the Maintenance, Facility Engineering, Environmental, and Business Continuity operations for the Peterbilt – Denton Facility. 
  • Responsible for the everyday production readiness of all production and facilities equipment and operations.
  • Determines staffing to meet organizational goals.  Includes assigning work along with developing / training subordinates and initiating personnel actions such as promotions and transfers.
  • Establishes and manages department’s budget.
  • Manage the life cycle management system.
  • Ensures reliability plans on new equipment are implemented in conjunction with Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production.
  • Establishes and oversees efforts to ensure work order coordination, reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and fire safety systems.
  • Identifies and assigns downtime reduction and cost reduction projects with maintenance team.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement utilizing Six Sigma and other Lean initiatives and tools.

Skills / Competencies


  • Engineering / Maintenance background and experience related to large, automated, production operations including integrated robotics and complex interdependent automation systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industrial systems and maintenance to include, but not limited to high and low voltage electrical distribution systems, PLC and HMI Automation systems, robotics, AGV’s, HVAC, plumbing, hydraulic systems, steam, industrial conveyance systems, and hoists.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated use of Reliability Centered Maintenance practices and principals.
  • Familiar with air, hazardous waste generation, and water management permits and regulations in the state of Texas.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to operate and actively participate in an inclusive team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and written / verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Functional skills and use of AutoCAD.
  • Experience and knowledge in PLC methodology and high-level controls function and design.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related degree.
  • CMRP Certification (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) preferred.
  • 10 years’ experience in Industrial and Plant Maintenance.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ demonstrated leadership in front line supervisory experience in a maintenance environment.
