Requisition Summary

Do you want to help shape Peterbilt’s future products?  The Vehicle Integration team is looking for an energetic leader whose team will engage early in the product development process to coordinate new product scope, definition, and functional design requirements. By engaging early in the product development cycle to coordinate new program definition and ensure superior customer satisfaction. Scope of work includes analysis of potential new product designs, evaluation of customer requirements, and definition of vehicle & system-level requirements.

This is an opportunity to use your interpersonal skills and engineering knowledge to add direction for future Peterbilt and PACCAR major programs.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Lead the activities of the Vehicle Function Definition team
  • Conduct significant interaction with PACCAR Embedded Engineering, Kenworth, and DAF Vehicle Integration teams
  • Participation in all major and moderate engineering projects
  • Coordinate with Product Planning & Marketing Department to identify all customer requirements and cascade them to Engineering as functional design requirements
  • Work with Vehicle Property Owners to set project vehicle performance standards
  • Coordinate with Product Description Book authors to establish scope and performance targets
  • Champion functional requirement status meetings with participating departments
  • Continuous improvement focused on requirement elicitation by interacting with customers and cross-functional teams to define functional design requirements
  • Support and provide feedback during Technical, Concept, and Design Reviews

Skills / Competencies

  • 5 to 10 years of engineering experience required
  • Supervisory experience preferred, including demonstrated leadership to accomplish department objectives
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Creative, quality, and results-driven work ethic
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts or data in a simple yet accurate manner
  • Independent judgement and effective decision making skills
  • Familiarity with ISO26262 and ISO/IEC 15504 SPICE processes
  • Familiarity with tools such as Mathworks, IBM Rhapsody, IMB Rational Rhapsody, IBM Rational Team Center, and IBM Doors NextGen


Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Software required.
