Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR Company, has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Engineer Intern in Denton, Texas

Job Functions / Responsibilities

This position will assist in the Study, Analysis, Development and Documentation of Supplier tooling and processes. The job also includes assistance in Continuous Improvement Efforts focusing on:

  • Departmental Quality Improvement Projects and Improvements in Overall Departmental Efficiency
  • Support activities to collect information from suppliers to develop the yearly tooling repair and replacement plan
  • Support activities to update the Peterbilt Tooling Database with updated information on scrapped or serviced tooling
  • Evaluate tooling line-ups requested by suppliers and review the processes used to produce parts
  • Assist dept. engineers in working on continuous improvement projects and provide individual leadership for projects as capable
  • Work on special projects to support supplier management and tooling activities
  • Participate in limited local travel to supplier locations to support tooling reviews and improvement activities

Skills / Competencies

The candidate we seek will be currently enrolled in an Engineering Program and have completed their sophomore year of College.   

Excellent technical, verbal, written and presentations skills. Proven problem solving skills are required. Ability to work in a self-directed environment is preferred. 

  • Must be flexible to work portions of day and evening shift.
    • Be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
      • MS office, specifically excel spreadsheets
        • A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferable.


Bachelor's Degree In Progress
