Requisition Summary

The Supervisor will manage after-treatment and exhaust development projects. Will manage, direct, and evaluate the work of assigned personnel. Will implement designs into production.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Supervise all work produced by Team Members to ensure it is error free and up to design standards.
  • Provide appropriate feedback and guidance to Team Members to help them improve their performance.
  • Complete all engineering deliverables required by PCP/Tollgate Phase and Program schedule.
  • Design or direct the design of components/systems.
  • Design-to-cost and deliver reliable solutions within schedule.
  • Take concepts from design to production implementation.
  • Apply knowledge of stress analysis, CFD, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Create, manage progress, and execute thorough design validation plans.
  • Manage parts and assemblies in the Product Change Management System (PCMS)
  • Prepare engineering activity status reports and other detailed reporting as directed.
  • Proficiency in the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Act in a professional manner with all external and internal customers.
  • Demonstrate professional and successful communication skills (verbal/written) with strong, effective interpersonal abilities.
  • Must be able to identify, prioritize, and coordinate resolution of production, production control, and quality assurance issues as appropriate by directing the work activities of team members.
  • Requires a proactive approach to defining issues and reaching early resolution and consensus.
  • Travel may be required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in an industry related role is preferred
  • Supervisory or managerial experience
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with Creo / Windchill
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience creating bills of materials for the introduction of new designs
  • Experience coordinating prototyping of parts
  • Experience specifying testing and evaluation of results
  • Experience coordinating supplier activities and directing production pilot activities
  • Peterbilt PCP Tollgate product development experience
  • Outstanding organizational, planning, and tracking skills


  •  Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or related field required
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Business is desired
  • Professional Engineering License preferred
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is desired
