Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Motors Company is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to work in Denton, Texas. The successful candidate will have three or more years of engineering experience, preferably manufacturing/industrial engineering, and project management experience. A highly motivated self-starter with a progressive, proven track record leading successful projects. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are required.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in truck systems development and launch process.
  • Provide manufacturing input throughout truck systems development, testing, and factory readiness process.
  • Develop relationships and Interface with all truck systems stakeholders and maintain awareness of upcoming changes and impact to plant processes.
  • Develop, assess, and implement processes to test and validate new truck systems technologies prior to production implementation.
  • Prior familiarity with or strong desire and ability to learn truck diagnostics software deployed in production including (DAVIE, Insite, Service Ranger, Allison Docs, Bendix Acom Pro, Wabco Toolbox…).
  • Develop and maintain clear communication with plant employees and supervisors.
  • Solicit and coordinate plant input and feedback.
  • Document issues in the PLR system.
  • Active participation in Advanced ME group Six Sigma initiatives.
  • 25-35% of travel may be required.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Truck Programming and Diagnostics Applications (DAVIE, Insite, ESA, Acom, Service Ranger, Allison, Wabco).
  • Project Management knowledge.
  • Six Sigma Experience/Certification.

Education

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required; degrees in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering are preferred.
