Requisition Summary

Peterbilt is currently seeking an energetic, independent engineer with interest in defining, developing, and testing infotainment systems and displays, antennas, and ADAS vision systems.  This engineer position will have the opportunity to provide innovative problem solving in a product development and service environment. Experience in designing HMI/displays, GPS/cellular antennas, and vision systems is a plus.  This role will interface with production employees, production supervisors, product engineering, plant engineering, management, suppliers, and customers. The role will require collaboration with strategic technology suppliers and other PACCAR companies: Kenworth, PACCAR Embedded Engineering, DAF, PACCAR Technical Center, Information Technology Division, Engine Support Center, and the PACCAR Engine Company. 


Here's what you will do in this role:

  • Define and develop ADAS and infotainment display system hardware and software features
  • Apply system and software engineering knowledge of electrical systems and components to design, implement, and validate truck systems and components
  • Be a source of knowledge in Cellular(LTE), GPS, and Wi-Fi transmission protocols and antenna design
  • Be a source of knowledge in Driver Monitoring for ADAS, Vision and Illumination Systems, Smart Devices, Applications Development, and Android OS
  • Work closely with Product Planning, suppliers, and electrical design personnel with cross-functional team members to assist with integration of new technologies
  • Author Technical Specifications, Functional Descriptions, and Product Description Books
  • Develop and Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UX/HMI) for New Products
  • Interpretation of Human Machine Interface Requirements
  • Create and Build functional Telematics, ADAS Vision, and Display Prototypes
  • Update service information as required to guarantee consistency across information platforms for end users
  • Interact effectively and in a professional manner with all contacts including external and internal customers and with suppliers

You're going to need this to be successful:

  • Commercial vehicle background including J1939, telematics, antennas, and infotainment/radio displays
  • Previous Design experience of parts and assemblies is preferred
  • Knowledge of ADAS vision systems, infotainment, and display technologies highly desired
  • Knowledge of Human Machine Interface and vision systems is preferred
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint and presentation skills is required
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and related computer software required
  • Must demonstrate an ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, manage multiple simultaneous projects, and respond dynamically to shifting priorities
  • Exhibit high level of enthusiasm
  • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision


A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field is required
