Requisition Summary

This position will be responsible for supporting existing production activities as well as support of future model activities utilizing Controls Engineers. Primary responsibilities will include visualization and prioritization of Controls Engineering Team activities, Controls Engineering Team development, high-level reporting to the management team, and strategic planning to support PEC long-term growth. Support machining department and plant-wide electrical and control systems for Heller CNC and Liebherr gantry control systems.  Design and implement controls improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve reliability. 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Participate in and lead plant improvement activities such as Safety Reviews, Quality Corrective Action meetings, and Production meetings, as a leader of the Manufacturing Engineering function
  • Lead the creation of training/mentorship programs for all new Controls Engineers
  • Lead the development of controls engineering and production standard processes and guidelines
  • Lead development and implementation of Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement and capital projects
  • Support the Controls Engineers with coordination of resources and schedules as well as guidance for overall project management
  • Support the PEC Management Team by increasing the visibility of the improvement or project plans as well as visibility of the potential risks
  • Overall Project Management of Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement projects for the Controls Engineering Group
  • Initiates personnel actions including performance evaluations, promotions, transfers, disciplinary measures, etc., in accordance with PEC values, guidelines, and procedures



Qualifications & Skills


Required

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering (Prefer Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing)
  • Experience with Visual Management/Project Management Tools
  • Experience in complex machining and project engineering assignments
  • Proven problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and influence others
  • Ability to work within deadlines to achieve goals
  • 5 – 7 years engine manufacturing experience

Desired

  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience in a simultaneous engineering project environment
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Business Administration
