Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Coaches repair technicians on quality processes, procedures, documentation and continuous improvement.
  • Encourages associates to pursue new and innovative ways to improve quality and productivity.
  • Provides technical training, support, and leadership for repair team.
  • Tracks and monitors online and offline repairs.
  • Ensures repaired product meets PACCAR quality standards.
  • Ensures proper documentation is completed for all repairs.
  • Tracks and monitors repair data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintains records and metrics.
  • Provides technical support of corrective action process.
  • Serves as resident engine and repair expert.
  • Assists in development, review, and approval of repair processes.
  • Acquires and maintains necessary tools and equipment for repair.
  • Initiates clear and concise communication to repair team as well as feedback to production.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe and efficient workplace.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities and support lean environment and re-work and scrap reduction.

    Required Qualifications & Skills

     
  • 5 plus years’ work related experience repairing and working on engines.
  • Knowledge of engine failure and diagnosis and repair.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coach and develop associates.
  • Strong motivational and team building skills with the ability to influence team members in a positive manner.
  • 1-2 years’ leadership skills.
  • Possess problem solving skills with ability to function equally as a team member.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of quality practices and procedures.
  • Basic Microsoft Excell Skills required.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
     
    Preferred Qualifications & Skills
     
  • 5 plus years’ work related experience repairing and working on PACCAR diesel engines.
  • Diesel engine training and certification a plus.
  • Working knowledge of PACCAR production systems/equipment (MES,SAP, process ID, data tags, assembly/test equipment).
  • Bachelors’ degree a plus.
