Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in multiple simultaneous engineering efforts for new product development projects
  • Review new product design concepts, 3D models, and drawings for manufacturability       
  • Create and maintain project schedules for new product introduction to PEC
  • Design and document manufacturing processes for new products: SOPs, PFMEAs, control plans, layout studies, cycle time analyses, financial analyses
  • In conjunction with project engineers, specify new tools, equipment, packaging, and other resources prior to new product launch
  • Implement process changes on time and within the budget for new product launch
  • Support project engineer efforts during the implementation of equipment commissioning and new product trial build    

 

Qualifications & Skills Required

 

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering (Prefer Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing)
  • Experience with Visual Management/Project Management Tools
  • Experience in complex machining, assembly and project engineering assignments
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and influence others
  • Ability to work within deadlines to achieve goals

 

Desired

 

  • 3-5 years experience in powertrain manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, or new product launch
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience in a simultaneous engineering-style project environment
