Requisition Summary
This position will perform professional nursing service and related duties in accordance with established medical center operating procedures, exercising independent judgment, working under general supervision. This position will support evenings and occasional weekends.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Essential Functions of the job include:
- Treat minor illness or injury and provides immediate emergency care, coordinating with supervisor or consulting physician in arranging referral and transportation for additional medical care when necessary for evening shift.
- Provide post-accident and suspicious substance abuse screening.
- Maintain drug and medical supplies, issues protective equipment and maintain related medical records.
- Provides health education, counseling and support the delivery of sites’ preventive wellness services.
- Prepares clinical or case histories, treatment records, and other confidential patient data.
- Schedule and review health evaluations of applicants and employees.
- Assists in the administration of FMLA and Short-Term Disability programs, ensuring timely processing of leave requests, accurate documentation, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Educates employees and managers on disability benefits, leave-of-absence procedures, return-to-work processes, and available workplace accommodations.
- Initiate safety documentation in incident management system.
- Complete weekly GEMBA walks.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- One plus years of nursing experience required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing and current licensure as Registered nurse (RN) required
- R.N. with medical-surgical and/or emergency room experience preferred
- Manufacturing experience a plus
- Accredited CPR/AED/First Aid Trainer preferred
- Team player with outstanding interpersonal and organization skills with acute attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Workers' Compensation and occupational experience a plus
- Ergonomic, sports medicine, orthopedic, or physical therapy experience is preferred
- Computer literate in a Windows-based environment
