Requisition Summary

 

Provides technical support to assigned area on reliability and maintenance issues. SME for all area equipment. Collaborates and coordinates with area maintenance teams, Maintenance Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Operations Engineering, and consulting reliability SMEs to investigate and resolve recurring reliability issues.

 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

 

Performs or provides technical support for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and reliability of area equipment in accordance with company policies, procedures and regulations.

  • Provides guidance and instruction for how to disassemble, repair, replace, and maintain area machinery or equipment, and for how to maintain its operating condition; verifies adequacy of repairs.
  • Assists department with reliability and maintenance issues for all area equipment; performs emergency response duties.
  • Works with Operations, Maintenance, and Environmental to determine failure modes and create equipment maintenance plans.
  • Leads and champions implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance best practices such as non-destructive testing, vibration analysis, oil analysis, etc.
  • Collaborates with area maintenance teams to develop material specifications.
  • Visualize, compute, and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, tolerances, alignments and clearances of parts and assemblies for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Drives job plan, engineering standards, and equipment specification improvements as needed; provides guidance, instruction, specifications and other input to planner.
  • Examines parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear; provides guidance and instruction on solutions
  • Collaborates and/or assists Reliability Engineer with RCA’s, FMEA’s, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Understands and ensures compliance with applicable EPA, State and OSHA regulations, and health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Supports standardization across equipment and technology.
  • Communicates with and maintains a positive working relationship with area maintenance teams, Engineering, Operations Engineering, Operations personnel, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with other area maintenance specialists and teams, Maintenance Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Operations Engineering group, and consulting reliability SMEs to investigate and resolve recurring discipline-specific and multi-discipline equipment failures and issues and make design modifications as needed.
  • Assists in creating equipment health reports for equipment.
  • On a monthly basis, reviews work order reports and other available data to identify reliability opportunities and bad actors.  Collaborates with impacted stakeholders as needed to resolve the issues.
  • Participates as an SME in project design review and related meetings.
  • Reviews equipment installations and commissioning acceptance.
  • Identifies and implements efficiency and cost reduction opportunities and measures.
  • Collaborates with Training Coordinator to identify and coordinate technical training for area maintenance personnel. 
  • Develops training materials as needed.
  • Coaches and mentors area technicians, supporting their development through formal and informal training and coaching
  • Reviews and maintains Management of Change procedures and records.
  • Coordinates compliance with Drawing Management policy to ensure all drawings are correctly categorized and stored in drawing database, and essential drawings are revised after project execution.
  • Completes required safety, technical, and other training.
  • Performs other duties as required to meet the needs of the department and Company.

     

    Qualifications & Skills

 

  • Completion of an approved training (internship) program or 2 year technical/vocational degree with 5 years of applicable experience, or 10-15 years of applicable experience
  • Ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work any shift and/or work overtime, including weekends and holidays as required

  • Proven ability to initiate and manage change, be innovative, think strategically, and work well with teams
  • Siemens CNC and PLC troubleshooting and programming preferred
  • Knowledge of area operations is desired
  • Ability to deliver results within scope of responsibilities
