Requisition Summary

Responsible for providing Human Resources leadership and services for the PACCAR Engine Company in assigned areas. The Area Human Resources Manager serves as the primary Human Resources business partner for evening shift manufacturing operations. This position provides strategic and operational HR leadership to assigned areas. The role is responsible for employee relations, investigations, workforce planning, performance management, attendance administration, policy interpretation, compliance, associate engagement, talent development, and organizational effectiveness initiatives. Partners closely with manufacturing leadership to maintain a positive work environment, support business objectives, ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies, and promote a culture of safety, accountability, respect, and continuous improvement.  The current opening is on evening shift and occassionally work weekends.


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Leadership development for clients which includes the recruiting/staffing selection, performance feedback process, organization resource planning process (succession), career development planning (IDP) process, and hands-on curriculum development and training.
  • Organization effectiveness for clients which includes high performance work systems, continuous improvement systems support, change management systems, communication processes, employee satisfaction measurements and improvement systems, employee issue resolution systems, union-free systems, and reward and recognition systems.
  • Human Resources Services/Administration leadership. Acts as a liaison with the Human Resources Administrators which includes compensation administration, benefit administration, Human Resources computer systems, and regulatory compliance and guidance.
  • Serves as the primary HR leader for evening-shift manufacturing operations.
  • Provides employee relations support, including investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action guidance, and associate concerns. 
  • Partners with operations leaders to address workforce challenges, support business goals, and improve organizational effectiveness. 
  • Coaches managers and supervisors on policy administration, performance management, attendance, and leadership practices.
  • Supports attendance management, leave administration, workforce planning, and HR reporting.
  • Assists with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, internal movement, and succession planning.
  • Leads engagement, recognition, communication, retention, and culture-building initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with employment laws, company policies, protected leave programs, audits, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Maintains shop floor visibility through daily Gemba walks and associate interactions.
  • Participates in crossover shift meetings to support operational continuity across shifts.
  • Reviews workforce metrics and provides recommendations to improve attendance, staffing, engagement, and operational performance. 



Qualifications & Skills

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years Human Resources Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Experience in both Union and Non-Union environment preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required
  • MBA, PHR, SPHR preferred.
