Requisition Summary

Process customer orders for parts, communicate shipping status, assists in engine shipments, and provides feedback to customers for shipment inquiries.

 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

 

  • Receive request for service parts orders. Review inventories and requests availability top confirm parts orders.
  • Process parts orders by packaging and shipping the requested parts with the aid of shipping personnel.
  • Communicate to customer on carrier and ETA.
  • Assist the shipping department by reviewing reconfiguration requirements and verify necessary changes are made to engines prior to load and shipment.
  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with production to ensure that all engine reconfigurations are completed for loading of engines.
  • Monitor and modify chassis records in Major Component Database to reflect customer and supplier requirements.
  • Keep track of shipments and OTD as department’s KPIs.
  • Service Replacement “Truck Down” engines with a full engine or short/long block ensuring correct configuration as well as expedited loading and shipping to customer.
  • Interface on a daily basis with the following job functions: Traffic Coordinator, Engine Demand Planner, and Demand Planner.
  • Develop knowledge of MES, MCDB, and SAP.
  • Must be computer literate particularly with MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Attention to detail to decipher E4 engine configuration numbers as well as engine serial numbers.
  • Must be able to monitor engine inventory numbers and communicate with senior management.
  • Monitor engine model number to keep the appropriate mix of engines in the buffer, focusing on low volume numbers down and the high volume numbers up.
  • Position will function as a Team Lead in the absence of a Unit Manager 
  • Position will require occasional support at our third party logistic warehouse



Qualifications & Skills

 

  • Must be a positive contributor to a team environment required.  
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, well organized, flexible and able to handle the pressure of a high-volume operation. 
  • Have worked in positions with shifting priorities and demonstrated the ability to handle multiple tasks at once and prioritize.
  • Candidate must be able to operate independently and with little guidance.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a working knowledge of advanced ERP and/or scheduling systems and basic database relationships.
  • Experience with SAP or other MRP / ERP systems required.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, well organized, flexible and able to handle the pressure of a high-volume operation.
  • Computer literacy is required with a familiarity with MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule – hours may vary on occasion in order to support production requirements.
  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
