Division Information

Kenworth Truck Company is the manufacturer of The World’s Best® heavy and medium duty trucks. Requisition Summary

Provides support to Kenworth Chillicothe new product launch readiness focusing on making the facility ready for smooth implementation of new product changes and model launches.   This support focuses on all aspects of new product implementation including materials, material handling, product engineering, quality control, manufacturing engineering, and production.  Required project management skills and outstanding communication skills will be essential.  Other key skills required relate to process improvement, making recommendations to improve production efficiency, enhance process capability, and reducing manufacturing costs.

Shift varies depending on product launch.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

•    Must create and provide status update reports to management on daily, weekly, monthly timetables as required to ensure clear communication
•    Must exhibit the ability to reduce broad and complex information into actionable plans with responsibility and timing
•    Must possess ability to interact cohesively between multiple departments, divisions, plants, suppliers, and management support teams
•    Must be able to set goals and accomplish through independent self-direction, as well as with teams
•    Must set complimentary short-term, mid-term and long-term goals with clear plans of action and accountability to support
•    Must have ability to strategically analyze and identify resource needs to ensure the success of plant readiness for new product launches
•    Must desire to advance personal development and contribute to continuous improvement of processes
•    Actively participate in and support cost reduction, warranty reduction, Six Sigma, internal audit, and other plant initiatives.
•    Shift varies depending on product launch, must be able to flex shift as needed. 
•    Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree required.
•    Strong project management skills
•    Strong problem solving
•    Strong written/verbal communication skills
