Requisition Summary

The Maintenance Coordinator is a vital role within any maintenance organization and directly affects the utilization of the maintenance labor, craft utilization, and overall equipment availability. 
•    Planning serves the entire team's needs by accurately planning complex jobs, assuring required parts are available, and estimating the labor hours needed.  
•    Scheduling serves the entire team's needs by accurately scheduling the required work.  Creating effective work teams and assuring any needed pre-tasks are accomplished before starting the main task.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

•    Accurately scheduling the required work for technical staff
•    Creates Safe work plans/pre-job safety analysis for all tasks
•    Identify necessary parts and verify availability before scheduling the work
•    Create a weekend work order schedule and meet with the team to set priorities
•    Work with Maintenance Unit Managers closely to assure task completion
•    Utilize outside vendors when required to complete tasks
•    Manage work order backlog
•    Plans the work by accurately assigning estimated hours and staffing level
•    Enters requisitions for parts that are not on hand for active work orders 
•    Expedite parts as needed for planned work
•    Looks at stocking levels for high use items makes recommendations
•    Reviews completed PMs, and all work orders returned with additional work required, creating follow up work orders, and plans them for scheduling
•    Provides equipment details, PM recommendations to the reliability team for PM update or new PM creation (i.e., new equipment installation)
•    Adds to or creates new PM procedures as required in the CMMS system
•    Verifies PM changes or PM additions are made and active in CMMS for planning
•    Adds items to the equipment Bill of Materials as discovered
•    Distribute and create standard reports and metrics
•    Create and run all scheduling meetings (cadence)
•    Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

•    2 or 4-year technical degree
•    Maintenance Management Systems experience
•    MS Office experience
•    Oral/Written communication of technical information
•    Mechanical aptitude w/ ability to understand technical documents
•    Experience with managing employee's time and creating schedules 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•    Mapcon Maintenance system experience
•    SAP experience
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
•    Maintenance experience
•    Supervisory experience

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

Once a valid work request is submitted, the Maintenance Planner will prioritize, plan, schedule, and follow up on the job plan's accuracy for all planned (PM, PdM, and Corrective) work. A planner's focus is not day-to-day but is to be proactive, optimize workforce productivity, and minimize plant downtime by managing work 2 weeks to 1 month in advance. Planners are expected to maintain accurate equipment files and related job plans. In addition, they are expected to organize effective job plans and keep them accurate and updated.
Planners are expected to walk down jobs and ensure that all safety and work process considerations are factored into the scheduled work. They are expected to incorporate safety into all work plans and help ensure that work is performed safely and effectively, and help ensure that the work management process is managed efficiently. Planners are also expected to ensure that the work management portions of the CMMS are updated and accurate.
