Requisition Summary
The Fleet Coordinator will work closely with Engineering, Dealers, Production, Sales, Service, Customers, Operations, and Design to develop and drive strategies for effectively producing trucks for top fleet accounts in the production environment under general supervision. Additionally, the Fleet Coordinator will look for opportunities to implement process and product improvements specifically for fleet builds and across the full production population. This position is located at the Kenworth truck factory in Chillicothe, OH.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
• Works as part of a team to coordinate and lead build activities (pre, during, and post) to ensure operational excellence and ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
• Uses Engineering tools to run parts compares on upcoming fleet builds
• Lead and support customer pilot review activities onsite and in the field.
• Coordinates closely with across intra-division teams to provide timely assistance, drive fleet issues to resolution, and to provide feedback, direction, and problem-solving to the appropriate personnel.
• Provides on-the-spot advice for issues encountered in manufacturing environment for key fleet customers.
• Drive continuous improvement projects targeting improving efficiency, quality, and cost within the operations environment.
• Provides assistance to Materials, Engineering and Operations on the implementation of key fleet product changes into production. This could include prototyping, coordination and notification.
• Assists the Order Processing Team with Fleet Layouts, correct sales codes and general information as needed to accurately work each fleet order.
• Lead by example and initiate process improvements to build operational excellence (efficiently, quality, and cost) as well as improving customer satisfaction.
• This position will involve direct customer interaction and periodic travel to customer/dealer locations.
• Undertakes special assignments or studies requested.
• Willingness to work alternate shifts as necessary.
• Travel up to 25%. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred.
• Liaison/applications/release experience highly desired.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and non-technical information to individuals with varying levels of experience and mechanical aptitude.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport across diverse backgrounds and tailor communication style to customers, dealers, engineers, and other stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner.
• Must be proactive and have strong planning skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional team environment with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in Mainframe applications – Engineering transactions/Order processing transactions
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity and Proficiency with CICS/Aviva, CREO, Windchill, PCMS, PLR, EASOP, ePortal, VOG, TOA, Wincodes, Chassis Compare
• Familiarity and experience working within a large scale manufacturing environment.
• Minimum five years of experience within the organization with demonstrated project management.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Preferred.
• Six-Sigma belt certified.
• Preferably possessing a minimum of five years with PACCAR.
• Master’s degree or other form of advanced education. Preferred.
• Experience working directly with customers.
• Heavy-duty truck and/or automotive product knowledge required including mechanical, electrical and software systems.
• Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented production environment and manage multiple priorities.
Education
Bachelors degree from an accredited university preferred
