Requisition Summary

The Resident Engineering Department is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to manage and lead the resident design team. This role will lead continuous improvement engineering projects, focused on improving the design of PACCAR products for manufacturing. Additionally this leader will manage a team will contribute design for assembly expertise to next generation development projects, including design input at all stages of the development process and support of manufacturing pilot builds. Ideal candidates would have a strong leadership background and experience in product design or design for manufacturing and assembly.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a high performance team which includes communication with plant stakeholders to establish project definition and priorities, supervising and driving project execution, personnel development and team building, and tracking and reporting project progress.
  • Manage all aspects of developing a project from concept to closure to meet schedule, performance, cost, weight, and reliability requirements, and drive goal attainment among the team.
  • Coach team members to determine the root cause of production defects and drive for engineering solutions that eliminate the sources of error.
  • Lead initiatives to integrate manufacturing and assembly best practices into next generation products.
  • BS Mechanical Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, or equivalent engineering degree required; Masters of Engineering or Masters of Business Administration degree and PE license preferred.  
  • 5+ years of design experience;  previous supervisory and/or lead experience preferred.   
    PACCAR/manufacturing plant experience desirable. 
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and manage multiple priorities. 
  • Ability to provide group leadership and management of human resource issues. 
  • Extensive knowledge of Pro-E techniques.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.  
  • Overall product knowledge required
