Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Daily management of the Cost Accounting team, including:
    • Ensure accurate cost standards, variance analysis and inventory valuation based on knowledge of product, pricing, procurement, manufacturing, and systems.
    • Coordinate and conduct interim inventories, factor studies and sales cut off verification.
    • Analyze information and communicate opportunities to reduce cost and maximize profit.
  • Coordinate and participate in month-end close, including review of cost accounting journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Coordinate and conduct build station audit program for the plant.
  • Manage plant physical inventory in coordination with other plant functional areas.
  • Support plant projects, including plant comparisons, rearrangement events and system related projects.
  • Ensure procedures are followed for surplus & obsolete material and that appropriate reserves are maintained.
  • Train, develop, and retain well qualified staff through the execution of plans that include recruitment, internal promotion, cross training, and evaluation.
  • Perform internal control reviews and SOX testing.
  • Maintain effective oral and written communications with other members of the management team at all levels
  • Perform other duties as assigned.




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with CPA, CMA or MBA required.
  • 5 - 10 years of accounting experience, with a background in manufacturing and cost accounting as well as managing people.
  • Must be confident, hands-on self-starter with the ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.  Must be able to motivate, lead, and develop employees.  Must be results oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Must be able to work with and relate to all levels.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Windows based programs including Excel, Power Point, Access, and Word.
  • SAP experience is a plus.





Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with CPA, CMA or MBA required.
