Requisition Summary
Responsible for oversight of continuous improvement and on-line quality activities to ensure PPS principles of Built-in-Quality are being executed and maintained. Provide feedback to appropriate managers; ensure proper documentation for product issues that may affect product quality during build, test, and final release operation. Design, implement and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and activities. The successful candidate must ensure consistent and complete execution of the overall Built-in-Quality Strategy in his/her area of responsibility. The successful candidate must lead project identification and project execution to improve the overall Built-in-Quality of the truck.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
• Using data analysis, lead and engage production or support teams in the development and execution of quality initiatives to drive Built-in-Quality improvements.
• Assist in employee training and development to help deliver measurable quality improvements that turn into 3/10 projects.
• Advanced organizational skills. Must be able to maintain a tracker and consistent submission on 200+ plant wide projects.
• Must exhibit capability to be a self-starter, require minimal direct supervision, and own multiple projects at any given time.
• Facilitate and serve as QA representative at Continuous Improvement Meetings (CIT) with assembly departments.
• Drive project execution to address theme-based quality issues as they are impacting truck quality – ie reoccurring routing, damage, assembly defects.
• Work with QA & area employees to resolve and eliminate all open write-ups within designated gates.
• Conduct problem solving efforts related to product quality.
• Facilitate data analysis efforts.
• Conduct daily product and process audits to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Provide oversight and reporting on Built-In-Quality initiatives.
• Ensure feedback is getting back to all levels of the team when issues occur.
• Ensure that feedback mechanisms such as gate boards and reports are up to date and being used properly.
• Establish, maintain, and update quality action item logs in responsible areas.
• Assess, prioritize, and communicate continuous improvement opportunities.
• Assist plant personnel in understanding Quality Criteria and the Gate Management Process.
• Support multi-point defect reduction initiative, through department meetings, trackers, and presentations.
• Regularly lead the 3/10 and Stats meetings, presenting to plant staff and all employees across the facility.
• May perform other related duties as assigned. May evaluate employee performance and recommend appropriate changes in status. May direct the work activities of assigned staff.
Qualifications

Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Three to five years experience in Production, Engineering, and/or Quality. Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing standards and assembly drawings. Six Sigma Greenbelt Trained or will be trained during the role. Comfortable giving specific feedback on quality performance and audit findings. Comfortable training and coaching others on specific performance issues. Familiarity with various problem-solving tools and techniques. Demonstrated ability to meet demanding deadlines.
