Requisition Summary

Kenworth Truck Company, a PACCAR Company, has an immediate opening for a Region Service Manager, in our Great Lakes Region to support products in the field. This position will work with dealers and customers to provide technical support for our products.


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Responsible for management of five Field Service Managers, two National Fleet Service Managers, and three Region Engine Support Managers
  • Provides management assistance to dealers to ensure proper customer support in accordance with Kenworth service and warranty related objectives.
  • Assists in the reduction of Kenworth warranty costs.
  • Establishes an effective counseling and advisory role with dealer management regarding service performance objectives.
  • Assists in training and developing dealer service personnel.
  • Work with Suppliers and Engineering on product improvement projects and work with field team to gather field data as necessary.
  • Facilitate conference calls, field meetings and training opportunities for the Kenworth Field Service Team.
  • Probably should mention develop and manage department budget.
  • Performs other related duties as required.



Skills / Competencies

  • Degree in engineering, business administration or automotive technology required; Master’s preferred.
  • Product and technical service knowledge gained through 3-8 years of related service, preferably heavy-duty trucks/OEM or truck components.
  • Thorough understanding of heavy-duty trucks or related equipment and the ability to apply and communicate this knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with customers.


  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbally and written, including the ability to plan, organize and deliver formal presentations.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify, prioritize, analyze and successfully resolve customers’ problems, giving a high priority to customer satisfaction.
  • High aptitude with software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management software.
  • Approximately 60-70% travel required.
  • Kenworth products and PACCAR MX Engine knowledge is preferred
