Requisition Summary

The Corporate Telephone Communications Operator will be the first point of contact for people calling into PACCAR. Therefore, the Corporate Telephone Communications Operator will offer business partners a friendly phone experience and efficient call forwarding.  Between calls, the Corporate Telephone Communication Operator will help PACCAR’s facilities team with administrative tasks.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Answer the Corporate general phone line and route incoming calls.
  • Screen calls as necessary to answer questions and determine the nature of the business involved.
  • Maintain and update phone directory.
  • Relay messages to appropriate employees and/or departments.
  • Carry out basic administrative tasks.
  • Provide back-up support to the Corporate Front Desk Receptionist.
  • Perform other administrative and receptionist duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 1-3 years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to speak English fluently.
  • Ability to handle multiple phone lines.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures for imparting directory information over the telephone.
  • Comfort with telephone consoles and related equipment.
  • Experience with customer service standards and procedures.
  • Prior experience with corporate phone operating systems.
  • Knowledge of international and/or conference call telephone dialing procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to verify basic corporate dining record data input.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Basic data entry and/or word processing skills.
  • Basic clerical and office skills.
  • Must be able to work Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Education

  • High school diploma required.
