Position Description

The Senior General Accountant is a key member of the Corporate Accounting team. This position reports to the General Accounting Manager and is responsible for the accounting for equity, stock options and deferred compensation plans, as well as general month-end close activities, significant reserves, forecast and monthly executive reporting. The position works with cross functional teams such as compensation, legal and treasury as well as interacts with the internal control, external reporting and external auditors.

 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the accounting for equity, stock option and deferred compensation programs.
  • Responsible for preparation and significant reserves, including Workers’ Compensation, Long- Term Incentive, Annual Bonus, PGA and Deferred Compensation.
  • Perform financial analysis and prepare timely, accurate and meaningful financial reports, including inputs into the monthly forecast, annual budgeting and monthly management reporting.
  • Responsible for pension accounting, including monthly journal entries, interacting with actuaries, quarterly reports for external reporting and preparing financial statements for Employee Benefit Plans.
  • Responsible for monthly analysis of various key reserves including annual bonus, long-term incentive, workers’ compensation, PGA, and long-term incentive plan.
  • Actively participate in special projects utilizing technical accounting and analytical skills to make recommendations.
  • Support PACCAR’s quarterly external 10Q, annual 10K and 11K processes.
  • Assist in documentation and testing for Sarbanes Oxley.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent analytical and technical accounting skills required.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and take initiative to produce results.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to understand the “big picture”.
  • Deadline-driven and self-motivated.
  • Strong PC skills – Excel, Word & Access.
  • SAP experience desired.

 

Education

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 4+ years of increasing responsibility

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

  • CPA / MBA
  • Big 4 public accounting experience highly preferred
