 REQUISITION SUMMARY

 

 

The Senior Financial Accounting Analyst is an important member of the Corporate Accounting team. This position reports to the General Accounting Manager and is responsible for driving the annual budget, monthly forecast preparation and forecast to actual analysis. The position interacts frequently with department managers, Corporate Accounting Controller and may participate in meetings with senior management.

 

 

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

 

  • Drive the annual budget for the Corporate division including:
    • developing and communicating overall processes and timeline
    • coordinating and compiling deliverables from department managers
    • preparing the senior management presentation package
  • Responsible for managing the monthly forecast for SG&A expenses and intercompany revenues
  • Serve as key business partner working directly with multiple departments to ensure accurate financial results
  • Perform actual to forecast analysis as part of month-end close and record accrual journal entries
  • Explain accounting and finance principles to non-finance business partners in a simple and straightforward manner
  • Drive proactive ad-hoc financial analysis by identifying what information is needed, where the data can be found and how it should be compiled, analyzed & presented
  • Participate in the monthly preparation and review of internal management reporting
  • Actively participate in special projects utilizing analytical skills to make recommendations
  • Support PACCAR’s quarterly external 10Q, annual 10K and 11K processes
  • Participate in documentation and testing for Sarbanes-Oxley

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

 

 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; including effective written and verbal skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Position requires frequent coordination and negotiation with numerous groups within PACCAR ranging from department managers to senior management levels.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills in Excel (i.e. pivot tables, macros, charts and graphs) and data analytic tools (i.e. tableau, etc.).
  • Problem solver with ability to work independently and self-motivated, handling multiple tasks and/or projects and shifting priorities.
  • Positive attitude and “can-do” approach to issue resolution.

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND SKILLS 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or relevant field
  • 5+ years of work experience with Financial Planning and Analysis, budgeting and expense analysis

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • MBA or MS in Finance or related field
  • Experience with SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Alteryx
  • Experience with SAP FICO

Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
