Requisition Summary

 

The Data Analytics Manager will collaborate with all PACCAR Financial business units to streamline reporting, increase BI skills sets and accessibility to data, identify valuable use cases for advanced analytics projects, and promote best practices and highest standards on Advanced Analytics and Business Intelligence projects for PACCAR Financial’s Data Analytics Team.  The Analytics Manager and his/her team will analyze large amount of business data, discover and solve high impact problems, build innovative visualizations and reporting and develop metrics and business cases that enables PACCAR Financial’s teams to continually enhance business and operations functions. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly analytical, detailed and eager to take on some of the most interesting and impactful challenges at PACCAR Financial.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and grow Advanced Analytics and Business Intelligence (BI) at PACCAR Financial.
  • Being a strong team member by supporting others or being a subject matter expert in data analytics.
  • Manage project timelines and lead collaboration across the Data Analytics Team.
  • Build and leverage key cross-functional relationships critical to the success of the analytical growth at PACCAR Financial.
  • Coach and develop the Data Analytics team to follow highest standards consistent with best practices and standards for data analysis.
  • Work with Data Scientist/Data Analysts on defining their department analytics growth roadmap and on defining Advanced Analytics projects.
  • Collaborate with Department Leaders on defining and reporting metrics for analytics growth.
  • Collect and manage project ideas, charters, project priorities, and project benefit.
  • Provide Tableau training and BI best practices training, and host internal Tableau Use Group meetings.
  • Develop sophisticated advanced analytics models; including creating, validating, analyzing and explaining the data used for model development.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and analytics techniques.
  • Be a leading expert and organizational resource on developing and evaluating advanced analytics.
  • Develop processes to extract, clean, merge, transform and compile data from various data sources, including relational database, flat files, NoSQL databases and unstructured data.
  • Introduce improvements to increase the speed, accuracy and efficiency of advanced analytics across the organization.
  • Provide accurate, relevant and meaningful ad-hoc analysis to management to support strategic and tactical decision-making.
  • Create and present materials on data projects, data science architecture, and analytics strategies.

 

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of applicable job experience, with a proven ability to make process improvements.
  • Must be a highly-motivated self-starter and self-directed learner with a creative mind, high attention to detail and a solution-oriented outlook.
  • Management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Understanding of data analysis, report visualization and an understanding of structured and unstructured data types.
  • Understanding of data models and how they support key decisions and key performance indicators (KPI’s). 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience in creating executive/summary level dashboards and reports, integrating many data sources.
  • Proficient in Tableau with a strong understanding of advanced Tableau features and capabilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity or experience with Salesforce, PowerBI, cloud storage and compute on Azure or AWS.
  • Experience with working with big data (Scala, Spark, Pig, Snowflake, Teradata).
  • Experience with, or deep understanding of, programming (R, Python, Java, or C#).
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL Server), graph databases (Neo4J), NoSQL databases (MongoDB) and unstructured data
  • Significant experience with, or deep understanding of, statistical techniques, modelling, and machine learning.
  • Experience with the operationalization and maintenance of analytics APIs.
  • Demonstrable in-depth understanding of data structures and ETL processes (including SSIS).
  • Experience with container deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).
  • Masters, PhD or DBA in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
