Requisition Summary

This position works with the suppliers to ensure supplier compliance in shipping, packaging data and rack scanning and maintaining supplier performance metrics.  The Logistics Planner is responsible for maintaining clean data in the PACCAR Transportation Management System.   This position may work with suppliers to optimize and executes transportation plans for supplier inbound activity destined for PACCAR plants across North America and monitor the performance of the transportation plans in order to ensure accuracy. Candidate will work closely with Material personnel and Plant Traffic personnel in order to ensure that consistent and reliable plant delivery schedules are maintained.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Monitors supplier compliance to system expectations.  Implement and maintain a supplier infraction process for supplier shipping, rack scanning and packaging errors.
  • Review and approve part packaging data entered by suppliers.  Follow up with suppliers as needed to confirm, correct packaging data before approval.
  • Maintain supplier performance metrics.
  • Ensure cleansed data is being maintained and loaded to TMS.
  • Perform Audits w/Orbis to ensure rack scanning and inventory investments are tracked.
  • Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with the supplier base in effort to maintain supplier base data accuracy.
  • Establish and maintain a strong collaborative working relationship with Plant Traffic and Material personnel to provide accurate transportation plans.
  • Identifies cost saving opportunities within the supply chain network and contributes to overall Logistics Savings goals.
  • May be responsible for routing inbound freight for suppliers within an assigned geographic region and monitoring plan accuracy in an effort to identify configuration issues.
  • May be responsible to enhance planning workflow by analyzing & developing effective routing procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 3 to 5 years of Supply Chain experience
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities in a changing environment
  • Experience with compliance management or metrics a plus
  • Strong industry knowledge of transportation best practices
  • Familiar with SAP
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Quality and results-driven work ethic
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
