Requisition Summary

The Environmental Intern will work closely with the PACCAR Corporate Environmental team to update, develop and maintain collateral material related to environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives. Completion of the internship offers an exciting and unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to PACCAR while acquiring professional experience. Internship is to start June 2019.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Assist with tracking of environmental remediation projects and sustainability initiatives such as greenhouse gas emissions and zero waste to landfill. Evaluate and develop a water usage tracking system in collaboration with PACCAR’s environmental team. Assist with a refresh of environmental audit process and project budget process. Provide feedback and suggestions as appropriate. Special projects may also be assigned.

Department Information

The Corporate Environmental Department provides guidance and oversight of global environmental compliance and value-added leadership with sustainability initiatives including ISO 14001, greenhouse gas emissions disclosure, and zero waste to landfill.

Skills / Competencies

Exceptional interpersonal skills, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. Working knowledge of MS Office products. Independent project management skills. Collaborative by nature.

Education

Currently pursuing a BS or MS in environmental engineering, environmental science, geology or other related discipline.
