PACCAR is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer to join our dynamic team.  This position is located at PACCAR’s global headquarters in downtown Bellevue, Washington, and provides an exciting opportunity to support the strategic direction of PACCAR by developing and applying business intelligence and data modeling solutions that support risk management in PACCAR’s multi-billion dollar global portfolio of financial products. 

As a Business Intelligence expert on the Portfolio Risk and Analysis Team, you will contribute to advanced analytics and reporting activities by developing and managing automated data pipelines that consolidate data from PACCAR’s finance organizations in Europe, North America, Latin America, and Australia. Company executives and analytics professionals will rely on you for timely, trustworthy, and relevant data necessary to understand and manage credit risk in an environment of uncertainty.

Success in this role will hinge on your curiosity, ability to work well in ambiguity, a passion for learning, and adept data management skills.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Serve as a business intelligence expert to support acquisition, processing, and consumption of data sources across the globe
  • Manage Corporate Credit data resources
    • Design data models and resilient data structures on a variety of platforms, including Snowflake, Aurora, SQL Server, MS Access, and Teradata
    • Build fault-tolerant data pipelines, data validation frameworks, and job schedules with an emphasis on automation and scalability
    • Ensure alignment with corporate architecture and design standards for data processing and storage
    • Document data flow, infrastructure, and processes
  • Deliver timely, relevant, and trusted data to business users at all levels of the organization
    • Develop high-performance SQL queries to support complex reporting and analytic requirements
    • Develop and support executive-level dashboards and reporting requirements using Tableau
    • Respond to on-demand ad-hoc analytical requests as needed
  • Leverage emerging technologies to continuously increase the value of PACCAR’s data assets
    • Expand and enhance the department’s BI capabilities by developing automated deployment pipelines, APIs, and data processing applications using on-premise and cloud-based tools
    • Maintain strong working relationships with IT departments and regional credit offices to facilitate adoption of digital transformation initiatives
    • Confidently present improvement ideas and technical solutions, that enhance business impact and reduce programmatic risk, to senior managers and executives
  • Support organizational objectives as an integral member of an effective cross-functional credit and risk analytics team

 

Skills / Competencies

Required Skills:

  • Must be a highly motivated self-directed learner with a creative mind, insatiable curiosity, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent general business acumen, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex topics
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and development approaches
  • Proficiency with SQL querying and use of relational database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.
  • Exposure to ETL tools such as SSIS, Attunity, or Informatica and data-centric programming languages such as Python or Javascript
  • Resourceful in getting things done, a self-starter able to contribute independently or collaboratively
  • Proficiency with data visualizations
  • Strong data gathering, analyzing, interpreting, and problem solving skills

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in a data-centric programming language such as Python or Javascript
  • Hands-on data modeling experience
  • Proficiency with core AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, RDS, etc.)
  • Hands-on ETL experience with SSIS or Informatica
  • Experience with supporting data analytics and business intelligence initiatives
  • Basic understanding of commercial financial principles

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Analytics, or related field
  • 2+ years of applicable job experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
  • Professional certifications such as CBIP, MCSA/MSCE, CDMP, or related
