DIVISION INFORMATION 


PACCAR Quality is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington with staff distributed across all PACCAR divisions supporting supplier activities, new product launches, and engineering.  This position can be based out of Seattle, Chicago, Dallas, Mexicali, or St. Therese. Salary, benefits, and fringe are location specific to the country and region where the employee will be located.  PACCAR Supplier Quality is looking for engineering, mechatronics, or software development professionals wanting to grow their careers and skills in the emerging field of software supplier management and development. 

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for applying the industry-leading PACCAR Software Quality Assurance process (SSQA) across suppliers that develop embedded systems for Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF trucks.  

 

The Associate Software QM will participate in supplier selection, conduct assessments, improve supplier capabilities, monitor supplier life cycle metrics, and approve software PPAP for product launch.  Additional responsibilities include engineering support, root cause analyses of supplier defects, and ASPICE assessments of supplier capabilities.  Training in software quality and certification as a provisional ASPICE assessor will be provided.  

 

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES 


•    Participate in supplier readiness reviews to select new embedded systems suppliers
•    A desire to develop ADAS, battery vehicle electrification, autonomous trucks, and hydrogen fuel vehicles.
•    Become an ASPICE assessor to evaluate and develop supplier capabilities
•    Collaborate with engineering and suppliers to meet PACCAR software quality requirements
•    Present and promote industry software requirements to PACCAR Sr. Management and supplier leadership
•    Consult with engineering and validation organizations to assure software readiness for launch
•    Participate in design reviews and product readiness reviews
•    Monitor supplier activities and escalate when risk factors to quality are detected
•    You are energized by coaching and leading suppliers, individuals, and organizations for zero-defect capability
•    Evaluate and approve supplier submissions for PPAP and approve software products for launch
•    Participate in the continued improvement of the PACCAR Software Quality Assurance process
•    Support production with root cause analysis and problem-solving for software-related issues
•    Collaborate with international organizations to develop a global standard for software quality
•    Lead activities for Advanced Quality Planning (APQP) on behalf of software quality
•    Fluent in English both oral and in writing
•    Up to 25% travel during peak project activities

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION 


•    BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field required.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 


•    Experience with embedded systems development or related field
•    Knowledge of software and electronic development processes
•    Knowledge of V-Model and product life cycle principles
•    Strong communications and negotiation skills
•    Ability to operate independently and make decisions in ambiguous situations
•    Experience with industry tools for requirements management, test management, and configuration management

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 


•    Familiarity with Controller Area Network (CAN)
•    Six Sigma Black or Green belt certification
•    Experience with Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP)
•    Background in an automotive environment
•    Professional certification from ASQ in CSQE 
•    ASPICE certified Provisional or Competent assessor
•    Experience in a manufacturing environment
•    Experience working with, negotiating, or leading suppliers 
•    Master's degree in business or engineering-related field
•    Language proficiency in either Spanish, Dutch, Mandarin, or Portuguese
