Requisition Summary


Manages and directs the wholesale and retail credit activities for PACCAR Financial in the Western United States. The Area Credit Manager reports directly to the PFC Director of Credit. The position involves working closely with the Sales Team and Dealer Network, to ensure sound decision making, while promoting the sale and financing of PACCAR products.


Job Functions / Responsibilities


  • Manage the workflow of incoming credit applications, ensuring accurate and timely review. Review credit analysis performed by team. Decision requests within assigned authority.
  • Develop staff through goal setting, delegation, training, coaching, and performance review.
  • Achieve goals with respect to minimizing credit losses and past dues. 
  • Actively communicate with internal and external stakeholders including senior management, dealership personnel, and end customers. Travel as needed to visit dealers and customers.
  • Analyze and interpret financial statements and data, credit reports, other underwriting documents, and prepare credit proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with PFC policies, procedures, and objectives. Ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Oversee dealer wholesale financing activities, including credit approvals, dealer documentation, contract processing, and inventory audits. Ensure dealer flooring audits are performed as required.
  • Develop and promote effective teamwork between Credit and the Sales, Collection and Administration staff.
  • Work with IT and other internal departments to develop, enhance and implement Credit Scoring and data analytic tools.
  • Keep abreast of credit and finance industry regulations, requirements, trends, and competitor activities.


Qualifications & Skills


  • 5-8 years commercial credit underwriting experience required; heavy equipment or commercial lending and dealer network experience desired. 
  • Minimum five years credit management experience required; distressed credit/workout experience preferred.
  • Sound analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent negotiating skills; strong leadership skills. 
  • Strong planning, organization, and process management skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and dealers.
  • Ability to travel up to 20-25% of the time.



  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
