PACCAR Silicon Valley Innovation Center
The new PACCAR Silicon Valley Innovation Center, located in Sunnyvale California, will focus on identifying and advancing emerging technology research and development for all of PACCAR’s businesses. 

Requisition Summary

The PACCAR Silicon Valley Innovation Center is looking for an ambitious and self-directed Automotive Electrical Engineer! If you have a proven track record of excellence, we are looking for you!

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• Create prototype and design of electrical and electronic components and systems for commercial vehicles. 
• Integrate new emerging technologies into vehicle architecture.
• Perform the design and development of assigned elements of: wiring harnesses, routings and guides system level schematics or other embedded electronic control modules.
• Provide interface documentation to wiring design, system architect(s), and mechanical design group.
• Coordinate with electrical validation team to certify new product and process. 
• Stay abreast of emerging industry trends in the field of commercial vehicle electrical development and technology.
• Manage processes to maintain schedule, budget, and functionality.



• BSEE or equivalent degree required; graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline preferred.
• 5+ years design of automotive or commercial vehicle electrical systems or industry-related background desired 
• Experience in design and application of automotive wiring harnesses, automotive electronic control modules, switches, driver input devices, and HMI elements.
• Experience in wiring design using Mentor Graphics.
• Knowledge of DC power distribution, management, protection, fusing, and routing systems, practices and tools desired.
• Proficiency using Systems Engineering tools, Pro/E or other 3D CAD software also desired.
• Engineering knowledge of heavy duty commercial truck safety systems, regulation in the areas of: operating, service, and performance environments.
• Experience creating engineering documentation including preparation of component and harness drawings, diagrams, and routings. 
• Willing to learn and to use new engineering processes and techniques and to be resourceful in solving complex technical problems.
• Experience in product development. 
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Familiar with personal computer software including tools, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Results oriented and a willingness to grow personally and professionally.
