Requisition Summary

The Aircraft Maintenance Manager’s position is an integral component of PACCAR’s Corporate aviation department which consists of three jets based in Seattle, WA and Denton, TX, servicing locations primarily located throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The department employs over a dozen people including pilots, mechanics, and a scheduler. The Aircraft Maintenance Manager will manage the resources of the SeaTac Hangar, to assure a safe, clean, well maintained and efficient facility and aircraft.  Promotes maintenance and engineering presentation of the facility and aircraft consistent with PACCAR’s image as the world’s best supplier of high quality, innovative technology tailored to provide premium products that customers are proud to own. 

The Aircraft Maintenance Manager is responsible for the planning and control of all Company aircraft maintenance and is the liaison to Approved Maintenance Organizations performing approved maintenance on PACCAR aircraft. The Manager also responsible for ensuring that aircraft under his control are maintained in accordance with FAA part 91 requirements and that maintenance related safety goals are met. The duties responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following;

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Ensure the quality of aircraft, engine and avionics maintenance and repair.
  • Remove from service any aircraft that is unsafe or not in compliance with the regulatory requirements of the FAA or the Company’s Aviation Department’s Operations Manual.
  • Maintain a program of aircraft mechanic proficiency training, reviews and upgrades in accordance with FAA and company requirements.
  • Ensure that department personnel are thoroughly familiar with company policies, appropriate FARs, pertinent manuals, practices and publications.
  • Maintain minimum equipment list (MEL) maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure technical and regulatory publications necessary to perform maintenance on Company aircraft are available and that those publications are up do date and available to maintenance personnel and contractors.
  • Act as liaison to FAA and other National Civil Aviation authorities regarding maintenance issues in all countries in which PACCAR aircraft might operate.
  • Ensure that maintenance personnel perform their duties in the safest manner possible.
  • Ensure compliance with Manufacturer Service Instructions, Service Bulletins and FAA Airworthiness Directives.
  • Schedule maintenance personnel to dispatch and retrieve Company and itinerant aircraft.
  • Manage Company “FlightDocs” aircraft maintenance tracking program.
  • Oversee the completion of Work Orders and aircraft Log Book entries.
  • Oversee Hazardous Material handling, knowledge and training.
  • Ensure that maintenance personnel are available at all times through PACCAR cell phones and email when Company aircraft are operational.
  • Schedule and participate in SeaTac hangar inspection and maintenance duties.
  • Assist with development of new maintenance department policies.
  • Assist with preparation of short and long-range planning and the annual operating budget.
  • Supervise maintenance department employees to include interviewing and hiring, managing performance, conducting performance appraisals, ensuring staff have the proper and required training, and ensuring regulatory requirements are adhered to during the hiring process and throughout employment with PACCAR.
  • Maintain spares and ground support equipment inventories.
  • Ensure aircraft handling procedures meet company safety standards.
  • Monitor hangar security standards and environmental affairs.
  • Ensure material safety data sheets are completed for all chemicals entering aviation facilities.
  • Schedule hangar fire drills.
  • Coordinate maintenance department planning with scheduler and aviation management staff while providing efficient and timely scheduling of all maintenance and repair.
  • Submit to TSA background screening for Port of Seattle ID badge and ramp driving privileges.
  • Hold a valid passport and driver’s license.

Skills Required

  • Dassault Falcon 50EX experience.
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate and Inspection Authorization (IA).
  • Computer competency.
  • Communication skills

  • Effective supervisory skills.

Education/Experience Desired

  • High School diploma
  • Minimum 5 years maintaining business jet aircraft
  • Proficiency with business software including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and CD ROM based maintenance manuals and publications

Preferred Experience:

  • A broad knowledge of and experience with the maintenance of aircraft of the class, category and type that the PACCAR operates (Citation Excel and Dassault Falcon 50).
  • ASTM/NCATT Avionics Electrical Technician Certificate and appropriate endorsements.
  • Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Prior Supervisory experience.
