PACCAR Financial (PFC)

PACCAR Financial facilitates the sale of premium-quality Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF trucks in 20 countries on three continents worldwide by offering a full spectrum of creative, flexible financial products and value-added services specifically tailored to the transportation industry.

Requisition Summary

Responsible for the day to day operations of the PACCAR Financial Used Truck Center and re-marketing of PACCAR equipment and representing PACCAR Financial Used Truck operations. Assist in the development and implementation of the company's used equipment sales plan and supporting policies and procedures; responsible for day-to-day administration, including establishing values and managing inventory. Work with the dealerships, customers and area offices, coordinating inspections and appraisals..

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Oversee day to day operations of sales, service, and parts activities at the PACCAR Financial Used Truck Center in Salt Lake City.
  • Execute the Used Truck Center business plan, and develop the marketing and sales channels to achieve the objectives.
  • Solicit and close sales of equipment held in inventory with the aim to maximize resale value of PACCAR products.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with PACCAR dealer network.
  • Accurate appraisal, price and sale of PACCAR, and non PACCAR used trucks in the retail and wholesale markets.
  • Manage transportation and reconditioning to optimize sales prices for used equipment managed through the Used Truck Center.
  • Advise and provide values for trade package commitments and business needs on a national basis.
  • Coordinate and manage the sales efforts for assigned inventory Support the PFC area offices in valuations of repossessed equipment and contract equity analysis.
  • Monitor existing internal controls and ensure Center compliance with established policies and procedures.  Ensure timely and accurate preparation, review and submission of routine and special management reports.
  • Work with dealers who are interested in assisting the Used Equipment Sales Department in such areas as the sale of units, consignments, repairs, reconditioning or storage.
  • Ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the Used Truck Center through utilization of effective management skills.  Develop skills of subordinates through a combination of goal setting, delegation, training, coaching and performance review.

Qualifications and Skills

  • BA/BS degree in finance, business or related field required. MBA desirable.
  • In-depth used truck sales knowledge.
  • Proven success and in-depth used truck knowledge with progressively more responsible management experience.
  • Ability to appraise used equipment accurately to maximize PFC’s sales proceeds.
  • Strong analytical skills to properly evaluate how to minimize reconditioning expenses while maximizing profit margins.
  • Ability to physically control the used truck inventory.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with dealers and other sales prospects to consummate sales.
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to motivate and develop staff; strong planning and organizing skills; excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff; ability to manage highly challenging dealer relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.
  • Proven marketing/sales skills.
  • Previous experience managing sales, service, parts, and people.
  • In-depth knowledge of creating and managing a budget.
