Requisition Summary

PACCAR is seeking applicants with an interest in heavy duty diesel engines and other heavy truck components to conduct inspections on parts replaced by Kenworth and Peterbilt dealers during warranty repairs.  The position is responsible for component inspections, failure documentation and conducting failure review meetings with key stakeholders including engineering, engine support, dealer training, suppliers and dealers.  This will help PACCAR understand how parts fail in the field providing key insight to changes needed in product design, dealer service training and dealer diagnostic processes.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Heavy duty diesel technician experience highly desired.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Mechanically proficient.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-directed and detail oriented.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions, operations and procedures.
  • Ability to operate precision test instruments which may require fine motor skills.
  • Ability to recognize obvious irregularities in form, fit, or function.
  • Ability to perform all assigned tasks from start to finish on schedule and with minimal instruction.
  • Ability to focus on more than one task at a time and the ability to shift back and forth between tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

Education

  • 2 year Technical Degree or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree desired, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
