Division Information

PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.

Requisition Summary

PACCAR IT Division is the central division for PACCAR focused on delivering world class IT solutions. The Senior Software Developer focus is to drive innovation and deliver solutions that change the way we do business and move PACCAR into the future. A successful candidate will be highly self-directed, an excellent problem-solver and be able to work with all levels of the organization. As a key technical resource, the candidate will get an opportunity to develop and implement Vehicle Software functionalities and be able to drive global projects in the Vehicle Software Delivery area.  Strong experience in software development, excellent written and verbal skills are required.  

Job Functions / Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for the support, deployment, configuration, development and validation of applications using Web and Client technology on a variety of telematics, vehicle software including diagnostics application platforms in a fast paced environment. The deployment activities will primarily use IIS. The development and enhancement activities will primarily use Visual Studio (ASP.NET and C #).

  • Troubleshooting and systems administration (DevOps)
  • Monitor problem tickets and support resolution for supported applications
  • Application Configuration and Deployment
  • Identify issues and propose long-term solutions
  • Design and propose alternative solutions in response to changing business needs
  • Application creation and enhancements
  • Accurately estimate time required to complete technical tasks and deliverables
  • Prepare accurate and detailed requirement specifications documents, user interface guides, and functional specification documents
  • Understand and communicate technical needs in order to analyze and develop technical solutions that meet these needs
  • Communicate effectively with business analysts and internal teams to deliver product’s technical requirements like web service, screen, interface, and GUI designs
  • Work as part of an Agile Team to deliver projects that meet customer expectations and achieve the business benefits

Qualifications

  • Experience with a variety of operating systems and concepts including: Windows Server, IIS, Firewall, IPSecurity, Certificates, Security and Active Directory
  • Experience with web services and web apps using some of the following technologies: XML, XSLT, JSON, XSD, .NET, WCF, ASP.NET, HTML, RESTful web services
  • Experience with a variety of communication protocols such as TCP, HTTP, SOAP, FTP and MSMQ
  • Experience with relational database design and consumption including SQL Server, DB2, IMS, Oracle
  • Knowledge/Experience in Vehicle communication and configuration technology is a plus
  • 5+ years of software development and/or application support experience
  • Strong understanding of OOO and SOA concepts
  • Ability to perform all functions of SDLC, including requirements analysis, design, development and quality assurance
  • Experience in Agile Scrum Methodologies
  • Testing experience, a plus including test automation, test-driven development
  • Experience with single-sign-on authentication
  • Cloud development experience a plus
  • Secure code development experience a plus
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate strong technical leadership skills
  • Ability to organize and lead conference calls with global partners in different time zones
  • Some travel may be required

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required
