Requisition Summary

The PACCAR Summer Internship Program provides an opportunity to learn about PACCAR through a work assignment in Operations Support.  Each intern will be integrated into division and department meetings, activities and events to ensure an understanding of PACCAR.  You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our dynamic organization, while enhancing your resume.  At the end of your internship, you have the opportunity to present your accomplishments to your fellow interns and senior management.  PACCAR interns have a great deal of visibility within our company.  Don’t miss out on an exciting opportunity!


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Evaluate 2016 Dealer Survey and review departmental needs to create the 2018 Dealer Survey
    • Develop new structure and questions using Market Research Survey methodology
      • Transpose qualitative information to quantitative questioning metrics
    • Identify Vendor, respondents and coordinate execution of survey
  • Work under the guidance of Capital Budgeting Manager in creation of 2019 projects
    • Coordinating with business owners for addressing scope and benefits
    • Identifying and quantifying savings opportunities
    • Analyze results of 2018 Dealer Survey
      • Use statistical methodologies to evaluate significant results
      • Use qualitative reasoning to derive business improvements
      • Work with Operations network to build action plans to address needs
  • Evaluate business need for iForks implementation across distribution network
    • Work with distribution centers to create specific time savings evaluation cases
    • Work with supplier to get price-quantity breaks
    • Develop implementation plan based on need

Qualifications & Skills

  • Currently enrolled, returning or recent college graduate in operations or supply chain management-related field preferred.
  • PC literate in MSWord, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform and communicate professionally under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Distribution Center operations, practices and procedures aquired by two (2) or more years of progressive complex distribution center, administrative, supervisory, quality and/or inventory control experience. 
  • Six Sigma trained: Lean Belt, Green Belt or Black Belt. exposure or knowledge a plus.
  • Able to work in the office or warehouse physical environments as required. Occassional warehouse equipment operation desired. 
  • Ability to move, lift or carry up to 70 lbs, withstand heights up to 30 feet, and operate warehouse equipment safely. Ability to reason logically, discriminate fine detail, distant visual and close information. Ability to work long hours with periodically physically demanding work.
