Division Information

PACCAR Parts is the global provider of aftermarket parts and services to support Kenworth, Peterbilt, DAF and TRP dealers around the world.  This includes 18 distribution centers globally that support 2,200 dealerships and over 1,000,000 customers.  Aftermarket support includes world class customer centers that deliver industry leading uptime in conjunction with our outstanding supply chain that delivers record levels of inventory availability for dealers and customers. 

Requisition Summary

The PACCAR Summer Internship Program provides an opportunity to learn about PACCAR through a work assignment in Product Marketing.  Each intern will be integrated into division and department meetings, activities and events to ensure an understanding of PACCAR.  You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our dynamic organization, while enhancing your resume.  At the end of your internship, you have the opportunity to present your accomplishments to your fellow interns and senior management.  PACCAR interns have a great deal of visibility within our company.  Don’t miss out on an exciting opportunity!

 

 

The Aftermarket Engineering/Product Development Intern responsibilities include gaining familiarity with the tools needed on a daily bases to support OE questions for parts and Parts questions to OE for clarification. Basic engineering background is useful but not required. In addition to day to day communication between divisions special projects/assignments include: enhancing the corporate patent process, developing stocking strategy for new parts, reviewing PDB’s with the end goal of enhancing Parts involvement earlier on in the process of development, working with embedded engineering group to investigate and develop predictive ordering of parts via reasoning engine.

 

In addition, attending Aftermarket Engineering and Product Development meetings, intern social events, participation in OEM meetings and staff meetings is expected.

 

A summary presentation describing the contribution to PACCAR and the lessons learned is provided as an opportunity to demonstrate to the Leadership team job skills and contributions.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Respond to OE questions and Parts questions improving communication channels between the two divisions
  • Attend meetings and review PDB’s enhancing involvement earlier on in the design process
  • Develop stocking strategy for new parts.
  • Enhance patent process

Skills / Competencies

The skills that are important to be successful in this position are as follows:

• Pursing a bachelor’s degree in Human Centered Design, Engineering or Business field;
• Desire to experience impacting design from a aftermarket perspective
• Experience with Microsoft Suite
• Desire to work on Human Centered Design process and projects
