PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.

Requisition Summary

PACCAR IT Division is the central division for PACCAR focused on delivering world class IT solutions. The Business Technology Analyst focus is to drive innovation and deliver solutions that change the way we do business and move PACCAR into the future. A successful candidate will be highly self-directed, an excellent problem-solver and be able to work with all levels of the organization. As a key technical resource, the candidate will get an opportunity to develop and implement Vehicle Software functionalities and be able to drive global projects in the Vehicle Software Delivery area.  Strong experience in software development, excellent written and verbal skills are required. 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for the development, enhancement, validation and support of applications using Web and Client technology on a variety of telematics, vehicle software including diagnostics application platforms in a fast-paced environment. The development and enhancement activities will primarily use Visual Studio (VB.NET, ASP.NET, and C #).

  • Define, design and propose alternative solutions in response to changing business needs
  • Application enhancement
  • Troubleshooting and systems administration
  • Understand and communicate technical needs in order to analyze and develop technical solutions that meet these needs
  • Perform tasks associated with pre-project consulting and business case development
  • Elicit high level project objectives and project success criteria.
  • Identify dependencies between projects and other systems.
  • Accurately estimate time required to complete technical tasks and deliverables.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed requirement specifications documents, user interface guides, and functional specification documents.
  • Communicate effectively with business analysts and internal teams to deliver product’s technical requirements like web service, screen, interface, and GUI designs
  • Work as part of an Agile Team to deliver projects that meet customer expectations and achieve the business benefits.
  • Participate in workshop sessions to scope projects and gather detailed product requirements.
  • Monitor problem tickets and support resolution for supported applications
  • Identify recurring issues and propose long-term solutions
  • Perform telematics and diagnostics testing


  • 3+ years of software development and/or application support experience
  • Strong understanding of OOO and SOA concepts.
  • Proven expertise around web development (Web Applications, Web Services).
  • Two years minimum programming knowledge/skill in the following technology, but not limited to, is required:
    • .NET 4.5
    • C#, VB.NET,JavaScript
    • JSON, XML
    • ReSTful web services
    • WCF
    • SQL/TSQL – SQL Server
  • Ability to perform all functions of SDLC, including requirements analysis, design, development and quality assurance
  • Testing experience, a plus including test automations, test-driven development.
  • Strong knowledge of software delivery methodologies.
  • Highly self-motivated.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment with little or no supervision.
  • Demonstrated strong technical leadership skills
  • Experience in Agile Scrum Methodologies
  • Strong understanding of business process, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to organize and lead conference calls with global partners in different time zones


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required
