Division Information

Kenworth Truck Company builds premium commercial vehicles for sale in the US, Canada, Mexico and Australia and for export throughout the world. Peterbilt Motors also designs, manufactures and distributes premium commercial vehicles in the US and Canada. DAF Trucks manufactures trucks in the Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom for sale throughout Western and Eastern Europe, and export to Asia, Africa and North America.


Requisition Summary

This position coordinates and arranges all inbound materials for daily production requirements. You must be willing to make pivotal decisions which will impact truck productions daily and the financial goals each week. The plant looks to you to get material on time and under budget. Continuous improvement from you and those around you is expected. This role includes a wide variety of Traffic Department functions requiring independent judgment and moderate supervision.


Job Functions / Responsibilities

Manages inbound freight via the PACCAR Transportation System, including direct interaction with PACCAR Transportation System planners at Corporate.

• Expedites inbound shipments and maintains shortage system information.

• Oversees status reports and files.

• Tracks inbound truckload shipments.

• Create and implement solutions to ensure inbound material arrives to meet needs of plant.

• Ensures proper documentation for all shipments, including bills of lading, air bills, and export documents to Canada.

• Conducts research on assigned projects.

• Leads plant effort in resolving Supplier Compliance issues.

• Assists with administrative and other functions within the Materials department.

• Other duties as assigned.



Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Transportation Management, or related field required

• 3+ years’ experience in domestic transportation including motor carriers, air freight, and intermodal.

• Effective communication and negotiation skills including conflict resolution.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.

• PC skills - MS Word, Excel, and Access.

• Position requires an accurate detailed approach, good organization, and the ability to communicate clearly.

• Must be a self-starter who has the ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Willing to work extended hours when required to support Traffic emergencies.
